This is a wonderful piece of a simple idea made big. It brings a smile to my face. I believe nearly everyone can relate to this subject. I love the bra strap; just a tiny bit naughtly. The wood dresser is so 80's with it big heavy oak construction; a familiar to all but the very young. The delicate strap against the heavy wood is quintessential. And finally the technique is breathtaking.
Love this one Delores. It looks like a photograph taken in an woman's bedroom.
A whole story could be written from this one picture. You can see a woman, with the details of the day's activities racing around in her head, racing to get dressed, preparing for what's ahead, so she can get out into the world and start her day. When she explodes out of her bedroom, there's a sudden vaccum in the room, so quiet, and all you see is the bra strap hanging on corner of the drawer that tell the tale of what happened minutes before.
I love your pictures. There is so much emotion. They are so alive.
I've decided to try my hand at drawing and painting since retiring from teaching a special ed class. Instead of e-mailing pictures back and forth with friends, I decided a blog was a more efficient way to share my art projects. Most of the graphite drawings and pastels were drawing class assignments. I've always loved watercolors, however, and started painting them in February, 2009 when I became active in an internet group.
