- I've decided to try my hand at drawing and painting since retiring from teaching a special ed class. Instead of e-mailing pictures back and forth with friends, I decided a blog was a more efficient way to share my art projects. Most of the graphite drawings and pastels were drawing class assignments. I've always loved watercolors, however, and started painting them in February, 2009 when I became active in an internet group.
You do amazing paintings of flowers. Your love of them is very evident. I love the delicate, thin, paperlike tissue feel of each petal. The smooth gradations if color are exquisite. The negative areas read well and complliment the flower. You do so well with revealing how fragile these flowers are.
